Our Club rules are there to ensure the safety and comfort of our club members and to ensure that
Wombwell Karting is a safe and welcoming environment for all. It’s everyone’s responsibility to
ensure the rules are respected so if you see something that concerns you please report it to a
member of our team – SEE IT, SAY IT, SORT IT.
We aim to work in an atmosphere of mutual respect with competitors, their guests, teams and
mechanics. Anyone who purposely ignores the rules may be excluded from the meeting and be
asked to leave the circuit. In extreme cases we reserve the right to withdraw membership or
withhold admission to the circuit on race days.
The Paddock
- Spaces with electric points will be allocated in order of reservation, pre booked electric points will
be given priority allocation. Contact Alf to reserve: 07768882135 - The pit bays in the paddock area are on a first come, first served basis. Those with electric points
will need reserving prior to the event. Please check out the pitbay plan on the website
www.wombwellkarting64.wixsite.com or displayed outside race control before you park up. - Please don’t wash down karts or engines with petrol or other flammable liquids, in the pits or by
connecting a hose to the tap in the disabled toilet. A jet wash for this purpose is available by request,
speak with Alf at the ALS Tent. - The starting of engines in the paddock is only permitted in your designated area or in Parc Ferme
with the scrutineers permission. Engines MUST NOT be started before 10.00am due to a strict noise
abatement order. - Regulations specify that all competitors carry a suitable charged fire extinguisher (minimum
standard BS EN3 with a 55B size rating) at all race and practice days. All extinguishers must of course
have a current certificate. - It is mandatory to cover and protect ALL wires and cables in the paddock that cross a roadway or
walkway. If it’s your cable, then it’s your responsibility to look after the health & safety of others in
the paddock. - There is a maximum speed limit within the paddock of 5mph. Please drive carefully and
responsibly. - Teams in the Wombwell Karting paddock are expected to have at Public Liability Insurance, uphold
the values of the Race ‘n’ Respect Code, act in a professional manner, adhere to the Safeguarding
Policy, attend all Drivers Briefings and nominate one member of the Team as their team
Representative at each meeting.
Dummy Grid and Parc Ferme areas - During race weekends each driver entering the dummy grid may be accompanied by ONE
mechanic or helper. - Please don’t smoke or take E-cigarettes or food and drink onto the dummy grid or in the Parc
Ferme area. - When exiting the dummy grid make sure you’re doing a sensible and safe speed and have followed
the directions of the WK Official. - Please treat the circuit, pits and facilities and everyone using them with respect.
- There is no access to the track unless you’ve been authorised to go on.
- You are responsible for the actions of all persons connected with you at all times (Teams,
Parents/Guardians, Mechanics and family members). Please respect our officials and they’ll respect
you. - The consumption of alcohol for Drivers/Mechanics/Team Personnel is prohibited during the times
when the track is in action. - All race clothing and equipment needs to conform to the current WK Regulations/Motorsport UK
standards. - The minimum age permitted to practice at WK is 6 years of age. Proof of age will be required on
your first visit. - We accept practice entries up until 17.00 on the Friday prior to a race weekend. We may also allow
people to attend practice without registering prior. - We accept race entries up until the closing date, which is usually at 14.30 on the Saturday before
race day Sunday. If we do accept a late entry from you it’ll cost you £15 more, so it’s worth getting
your entry to us early. Register via: wombwellkarting.alphatiming.co.uk/users/sign_in - If you enter but your plans change, we will refund your entry fee or transfer to another event
provided you let us know by email before the close of entries for that meeting. - Only AMB Transponders will operate at Wombwell Karting.
Health and Safety - Bikes, scooters, skateboards, ball games etc are banned from the paddock when the meeting is in
action. We hope we don’t have to confiscate any bikes/scooters/skateboards/balls etc until the end
of the meeting. If we do a £50 release fee will be required. We all need to take responsibility for the
safety of everyone, so please respect this rule and help us to enforce it. - Please be aware of Wombwell Karting/Motorsport UK’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
- Our Safeguarding Officers are: Donna Peat and Beth Lockwood.
- Dogs are allowed at the circuit but should always be kept on a lead. Please clean up after your dog
and keep it safe. - Space heaters used in confined spaces such as awnings can present extremely dangerous
conditions and WK would advise you against using them. Should you still wish to use a gas or
paraffin-based space heaters, then please ensure it is used with the greatest of care and safety (you
do so at your own risk). - We recommend everyone takes a look at the Karting Paddock Safety document available on our
